Marcus Johannes

Marcus and his wife Aanna have been married for over 15 years and have 5 young daughters. He grew up in Jordan, Minnesota and currently lives with his family in Shakopee, where Aanna home schools their children. Marcus earned a BA in Psychology and Religion at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He is active at Grace Church in Eden Prairie, Shakopee Chamber of Commerce, Feed My Starving Children, American Heritage Girls and Prior Lake BNI.

Marcus has extensive experience working with people in crisis. He worked for many years at a variety of in-patient locked mental health and chemical dependency units for both children and adults. Caring and empathetic, he enjoys helping families in their time of need. He finds it rewarding to think outside the box and to help people find solutions to be on the path to success.

Marcus says real estate is similar in that it is a big life event, can be stressful and needs to bring all sides together. Having dealt with some of life’s most difficult issues makes real estate challenges seem manageable. It is easy to stay balanced, keeping perspective and staying positive, to any situation.

Get to know Marcus Johannes

When did you get into real estate? What made you decide to get into real estate?

“I got my real estate license in 2004, but I bought my first house when I was 22. I got into property ownership and management, sold a property without an agent because who needs an agent, I can do this myself.”

What are your thoughts on the 2021 real estate market?

“Exciting market, new challenges, good stories and tough stories as usual.”

Any advice to first time home buyers?

“Any 1st time homebuyer needs to spend time with a trusted agent. It is a big decision to buy a house, thinking through your longer term needs can be very beneficial.”

When you’re not answering your phone, and doing showings, what do you like to do?

“I enjoy spending time with my wife and 5 daughters. I like church, reading, sports, and spending time near or on the water!”
